In this research, the mineral and organic composition of the seminal plasma, physical spermatological parameters and their physiological relationships were investigated in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella). The seminal plasma contained 98.14±5.23 mM L?1 (Na+), 380.85±25.95 mM L?1 (K+), 30.25±4.96 mg dL?1 (Ca2+), 19.16±1.70 mEq L?1 (Mg2+), 1.36±0.11 mg dL?1 glucose, 0.37±0.08 g dL?1 total protein, 12.02±1.18 mg dL?1 cholesterol, 14.85±1.50 mg dL?1 triglyceride and 43.5±9.56 mg dL?1 urea. The following spermatological parameters were found: sperm volume 14.44±1.16 mL, sperm motility 80.60±1.55%, movement duration 67.68±4.32 s, density 15.43±0.72 × 109 mL?1, total density 337.43+45.86 × 109 and pH 7.24±0.17. The Na+ and Ca2+ ions correlated negatively with spermatozoa motility (r=?0.453, P>0.05 and r=?0.192, P>0.05) respectively. The K+ ion correlated positively with spermatozoa motility (r=0.545, P>0.05). But a statistically significant correlation was not observed between sperm motility and seminal plasma parameters. The following correlations were observed between mineral and organic components. The Mg2+ was positively correlated with glucose and cholesterol (r=0.692, P<0.05 and r=0.680, P<0.05) respectively. A highly significant positive relationship was also found between Mg2+ and total protein (r=0.837, P<0.01). On the other hand, a significantly negative relationship was found between Ca2+ and triglyceride (r=?0.639, P<0.05). The soluble sugar and organic acid composition of melon (Cucumis melo L.) fruit flesh has become a major focus of plant breeding worldwide in an attempt to improve taste. Thus, sugar and organic acid profiles were characterized using near-isogenic lines (NILs) derived from the Spanish cultivar Piel de Sapo (PS) and the exotic Korean accession Shongwan Charmi (PI 161375). Fruits were cultivated in only one environment. These data were used to map 60 quantitative trait loci (QTLs): 18 for individual sugars, eight for sucrose equivalents, five for the glucose-to-fructose ratio, seven for the total sugar content and 21 for organic acids. Within the QTLs that were associated with the sugar profile, 27 defined the sugar content: eight for fructose, six for glucose, four for sucrose, and nine for sucrose equivalents. Although increased sweetness of selected NILs compared with the parental PS was achieved by an increased glucose or fructose content, only glucose heritability was above 0.5. A total of 21 QTLs (two with positive effects and nineteen with detrimental effects compared with the PS levels) controlled the organic acid profile: l-glutamic, ascorbic and succinic acids (the principal ones) and fumaric, citric, oxalacetic, and isocitric acids. The levels of sugars imparted by the PI 161375 introgression frequently decreased the score grades given to NILs by consumers. Within the 32 QTLs mapped for sensory traits, 27 were associated with lower scores in taste (nine QTLs), sweetness (eight QTLs) or global quality appreciation (nine QTLs); two with increased fruit sourness or sweetness and three with increased fruit bitterness. The QTLs defined herein may assist breeders to understand the overall organoleptic balance (sweetness, sourness, and umami taste) in melon fruit, particularly those located within linkage groups III, V, VI, and VIII to XI. 相似文献

从2004年开始河北省棉花品种审定进入了除短季棉品种之外全部为转基因抗虫棉品种的新阶段,5年间共审定转基因抗虫棉花品种65个,本研究对其纤维品质性状进行了分析。结果表明:上半部平均长度集中在27.1~32.7 mm,86.2%品种属于Ⅱ型;比强度集中在24.6~32.0 cN/tex,53.85%品种属于Ⅲ型,没有Ⅰ型品种,20%品种低于Ⅲ型;马克隆值集中在3.6~5.3,13.84%品种属于Ⅰ型,83.08%品种属于Ⅱ型。2004-2007年,纤维品质逐年变好,但由于2007年吐絮期长时间降雨,造成2008年纤维品质出现了下滑。总的说来,我省转基因抗虫棉品种没有上半部平均长度≥31 mm,比强度≥34 cN/tex,马克隆值在3.7~4.2的综合表现Ⅰ型的品种,主要表现在比强度没有Ⅰ型品种,因而,我们的应该加强培育高比强的棉花新品种。 相似文献

The large scale conversion of extensive swidden agriculture to intensive market oriented production of maize in upland areas of South East Asia is a cause of environmental concern. This study investigates how intensive maize cultivation affects soil quality in an upland area of Northern Thailand by comparing commonly used indicators of soil quality in soils from maize fields used at various intensities. Relations between these indicators and concentration of permanganate oxidizable carbon (Pox‐C) – a low cost proxy for soil quality – are also examined. The extent, type and drivers of land use changes between 2002 and 2012 are investigated by classification of high resolution satellite images, interviews, participatory mapping and questionnaires. We document a widespread change from traditional swidden agriculture to intensive cultivation of maize that is mainly brought about by economcic and political drivers. We show that the concentration of Pox‐C in the top soil of the maize fields is closely related to common indicators of soil quality and to farmers' perceptions of soil quality. Most of the other soil quality indicators are negatively – albeit not significantly – related to intensity of maize cultivation. There is a strong negative correlation between intensity of maize cultivation and concentration of Pox‐C in the upper 5 cm of the soil where the Pox‐C concentration declines with a rate of 40 mg year under maize−1. We conclude that Pox‐C is a sensitive indicator of effects of land use intensity on the soil and a useful integrative measure of soil quality. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
